Nick: As I'm sure you know from the previous videos,

I always hated how my hearing aids looked so I've spent the last 6 months working from my bedroom to design the hearables that I always wanted.

My friend, Gray, who is an amazing designer, has helped me take this from an idea to something that we're really excited to share with you.

He's going to tell you all about them.

Gray: Hi!

One of the reasons I joined this project with Nick was because I really liked the idea of reinventing hearing products. If you want to see better, you can wear some nice looking glasses. So why can't you do the same for your hearing.

Throughout this project, we came of with 3 principles for how we want to design this product:

Don't hide.

It's not just hearing.

Be something unique.

Principle 1: Don't hide

Hearing aids are usually designed to be hidden, which we think makes no sense. Why should you have to hide that your hearing is different?

So instead of designing something that is invisible, we are trying to design something that is very visible. Unapologetically visible. I don't apologize for ...

Moving on.

Principle 2: It's not just hearing

Connection. For this, it's super important for us that your ear canals are not visually blocked.

We came up with a unique open-ear design that fits securely on your head and let's others know you are listening to their bad jokes.

Principle 3: Do something unique

We're definitely not trying to design something that looks like a medical product. But also we're also not trying to design earbuds. This is something that you're gonna wear all day, so like glasses or a watch, it's something that's going to become a part of your look.

The design language is totally unique to hearing products but still kinda looks familiar. The acetate frames combined with stainless steel are not only comfortable, but hopefully look good enough that you're gonna want to wear them all day

I started out helping Nick create his own pair of hearing devices, but after the feedback from everyone, we quickly realized that this project needs to be bigger than just helping one person. Now we plan to make these available for everyone!
